He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy (Gladys Buie) and Buie; his wife Ruth Johnson Buie; his son Frank Giles Buie, Jr.; and his great grandchild Sophie Zimmerman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tonja Summerlin, Sonja Sanders (Grevlyn) and Nila Johnson (Danny); and his grandchildren, Chad Green (Brandi), Nick Green, Tiffany Button (Jason), Bethany Wood (Darrell), Marcey Zimmerman (Shawn) and Hunter Johnson (Karie). He is also survived by his 16 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
