He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hudson Pate; his children, Julie McMahon (Shelby) of Demorest, GA, Rachel Duncan (Richard) of Reading, UK and Jason Pate of Albertville; and his grandsons, Cody McMahon, Chase McMahon, Ethan Duncan and Jack Duncan.
