He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Hobson Pate, Sr. and Nora Watkins Pate; his parents-in-law, Omri Britian Warren and Ellie Self Warren; and his sister-in-law Nanci-Kay Pate.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gale Warren Pate; his children, Michael Keith Pate (Suzanne), Dawn Pate and Page Helm (Dennis); his brother Doug Pate; his grandchildren, Casey (Olesea), Joshua (Ashley), Adam (Lauren), Clint (Katie), Kera and D. J.; and his great grandchildren, Eli, Christian, Maggie, Ellie and Emory. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
