With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wayne Mathews of Hoover, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on November 5, 2023 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arnold and Mildred Payne Mathews; and his son Charles Wayne Mathews II. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Mobley Mathews; his daughter Jennifer Land (Tom); his daughter-in-law Dalila Mathews; his granddaughters, McKenzie Parham (Dillon) and Ava Kathleen Mathews; his great grandchild Flynn Parham; and his siblings, Carol Craig (Neely), Brownie Giles (John) and Hugh Mathews (Regina). He is also survived by two aunts and one uncle; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless friends.
