Though Virginia Cognato may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Cognato and Rose Varisco Cognato. She is survived by: her husband Harvey Gaumond; her children, David Gaumond (Melanie) and Julie Gaumond; her grandchildren, Katherine LeJeune (Matthew) and Gregory Gaumond (Mallory); and her great grandchild Elizabeth LeJeune. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (600 N Oak St, Hammond, LA 70401). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery (908 Western Ave, Hammond, LA 70401).
