He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Reverend William Raines Battle, Sr. and Inez Massengale Battle; his wife Bess Helsley Battle; his daughter Betty Battle; his siblings, William Raines Battle, Jr., Laurie Calvin Battle, Jean Allen Battle, David Gray Battle and Martha Battle Davies; his wife Agnes Ferguson Battle; his children, Martha Battle Bibee (Steve), Thomas Massengale Battle, Jr. (Eula) and John Daryle Battle (Margaret); and his stepchildren, Renee Leonard (Brad) and Chris Rouveyrol. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
