It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sally Nelson of Hoover, Alabama, who passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sally Nelson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, D. V. Riley and Theoria Roney Riley; her siblings, Mavis Taylor, Neville Shelley, Isoprene Jones, Betty Graham and Roney Riley; and her granddaughter Bailey Savannah Nelson.
She is survived by: her sons, Mike Nelson (Tammy) and Mark Nelson (Ann); and her grandchildren, Samantha Thibodeaux (Landon), Dalton Nelson (Sarah), Amber Hembree (Mitchel) and Adrian Rouse (Brittany).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home & Jefferson Memorial Gardens (2701 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover, AL 35244). Viewing was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home (2701 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover, AL 35244). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM.
