It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rueben Edward Watkins Jr. of Hoover, Alabama, born in Pell City, Alabama, who passed away on April 9, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Riley Watkins; and his brothers, Williams Robert "Bob" Watkins and Richard "Dick" Andrew Watkins. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Mathew Watkins, O. C. Watkins (Susannah), Chance Watkins, Danielle Filmore (Ray), David Watkins (Cassidy), Nicole Posey, Josh Posey, Carl-Edward Valentine (Payton) and Clay-Riley Valentine (Kristen); and also, Greg Watkins (Selena), Andy Watkins (Debbie), Margaret "Ginny" Posey, Amy Valentine (Clay), Brooklyn Watkins, Will Davis Watkins, Alston Posey Trubig, Braxton Henry, Kenlyn Henry, Brinlyn Henry, Aubrey Filmore and William Valentine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Berney Points Baptist Church, 2250 Blue Ridge Blvd., Hoover, AL 35226.
