It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter Theodore Lafakis of Hoover, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on February 11, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Irene Vodantis Lafakis; his son Chris Theodore Lafakis (Despina); his grandson Zachary Lafakis of Pennsylvania; his daughter Argie Maria Borders (Charles) of Hoover; his mother Roula; his sister Sofia Petrou (late Steve); his nephews, Dino and Teddy Petrou (Eleni); his niece Stephanie Burton (Monty) of Houston, Texas; his aunt Georgia Savvopoulou of Athens; and his sister-in-law Despina Vodantis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Birmingham , designated to the Athletic Fund.
