She was predeceased by: her parents, Delaney Nixon and Effie Nixon; her siblings, William Melvin Nixon and Marlyn Nixon Jenkins; and her former husband Jon Royster Fort.
She is survived by: her husband Aldridge Nursery; her sons, Scott (Kim), David (Kathy) and Andrew (Beth); her grandchildren, Michael (Anna Catherine), Sara, Chris (Maddie), Daniel (Mallory), Mary Kathryn (Ian), Ashley (McNeill), Caroline (Wheeler), Jason, Thomas and Sam; her great grandchildren, John Nixon, Emma and Georgia; and her sisters-in-law, Sandra Clayton and Wynell Nixon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
