He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Dempsey and Mildred Dempsey; and his sisters, Cathy Crane, Jackie Cantrell and Mickey Busler.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Dye; his children, Mike Dempsey (Amy Dempsey) and Susan Kaplan (Mark Kaplan); his grandson Jared Kaplan; and his brother Robert Dempsey (Anita). He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Southern Heritage Funeral Home (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Jim wished to be cremated, and in lieu of flowers, the family asks that any contributions be made in his name to the Brunos Cancer Center Oncology Department at UAB St Vincents.
