He was predeceased by: his parents, Hal R. Harris, Sr. and Mary Harris; and his brother Robert Landis Harris. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Harris; his brother David Harris; his son Stephen; his daughter-in-law Sarah Harris; his daughter Katherine; his son-in-law Eric Boyd; his grandchildren, Emily, Tyler, Blake Harris and Maggie Boyd; his siblings-in-law, Debbie Harris Brock, Leigh and Bryan Laney; and his nieces, Keighly, Lauren and Maris.
