He is survived by: his wife Rita Lyles Newell; his son Gerald Scott Newell (Amy); his grandchildren, Briley Jane Maurell (Arik) and Casey Jacob Newell; his great grandchildren, Naama Leia Maurell and Lionel Avraham Maurell; his brother Robert Mocell Newell (Janice); and his siblings-in-law, Jim Lyles (Rhonda), Robbie Lyles Shehane (Don) and Judy Lyles Grayson. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
