He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Bannister and Cordelia Bannister; his brother Edwin Bannister (Nedra); his son-in-law French White; and his niece Denise Bannister Johnston.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his daughters, Deborah and Elizabeth; his grandsons, Jonathan and Benjamin; and his brother James Bannister (Mary). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
