It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Popwell (Hoover, Alabama), born in Clanton, Alabama, who passed away on October 1, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Nell Hayes Popwell; his parents, Fonza Iven and Mary Cagle Popwell; and his siblings, Robert, Baxter, Joe Popwell, Gladys Glenn, Merita Levine and Frances Eiland.
He is survived by: his sons, Donald Popwell and Ronald Popwell (Susan); his grandchildren, Chris Popwell (Haley) and Malorie Popwell Yerbey (Johnny); his great grandchild Winston Drake Popwell; and his brothers, Paul Popwell and Dalton Popwell (Dana). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
