He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Oakley Powell and Frances Pearl Powell (Potts); and his sister Mary Frances Haynes. He is survived by: his wife Lagena R. Powell (Bridges); his daughter Gena Sullivan (Mark); his grandchildren, Hannah Pope (Adam) and Joel Sullivan (Becca); and his great grandchildren, Annie Pope and Bailey Sullivan.
A graveside service was held on Monday, September 16th 2024 at 11:45 AM and at 1:30 PM. A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 16th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Green Valley Baptist Church (1815 Patton Chapel Rd, Hoover, AL 35226).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lakeside Hospice, 4010 Masters.
