She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Butler and Juanita Butler; and her sister Linda Brown. She is survived by: her husband Mike Hays; her children, Matt Hays (Susan) and Julie Brousil (Ben); her grandchildren, Hudson Hays, Anderson Hays and Brady Brousil; her brothers, Joe Frank Butler (Shirley) and Jack Butler (Marilyn); and her brother-in-law Jim Brown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's of Central Alabama, P.O. Box 2273, Birmingham, AL 35201.
