It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Andre Gilchrist of Hoover, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Gilchrist Holmes and David Scott; his brothers, Columbus Gilchrist Jr., Tyrone Gilchrist, Harold Gilchrist and Michael Holmes; and his stepfather Alexander Holmes Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Gilchrist; his son LeNorris Andre Gilchrist; his stepchildren, Victor M. Smith Jr. and Jantzen Smith Nalls; and his siblings, Theodore Gilchrist (Sylvia), James Edwin Gilchrist, Dwight Gilchrist (Derrick), Keith (Eric Holmes), Phyllis A. Gilchrist, Barbara Gilchrist McQueen (Woodrow McQueen Jr.) and Josephine Holmes. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, family members and friends.
