He was predeceased by: his parents, Mayfield Ezekiel Slaughter and Mary Frank (Smith) of Birmingham. He is survived by: his wife Diana Bowron Rediker; his sister Carol Slaughter; his sons, Hanson Slaughter (Melissa) and Will Slaughter (Sarah); and his grandchildren, John, Virginia and Ada Slaughter.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his memory to Indian Springs School, The Cathedral Church of the Advent, or the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
