He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Dempsey Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Carlin Dempsey; and his brother Lawrence Dempsey Jr. (Larry). He is survived by: his brother Kenneth W. Dempsey (Sandy); his daughters, Michele D. Earnest (Chip) and Suzette E. Hockert; his grandchildren, Justin L. Hockert, Maddie Jackson (Jonathan) and Zoey Grace Earnest; and his great grandchild Sophie Renee Hockert. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows School Fund (OLS), 1728 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL. 35209 or your own charity.
