He is survived by: his children, Michelle Southerland Ray (Alex), Sarah Caitlyn Southerland and Cary James Southerland (Bailey); his grandchildren, Alexis Lynn Ray, Anna James Ray, Ari Willis Ray and Hope Eleanor Southerland; his mother Mary Cater Southerland; and his siblings, Mary Southerland Latham (Ira), William Bruce Southerland (Trisha) and Susan Southerland Parker (Bob).
A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Valley Presbyterian Church (5081 Eastern Valley Rd, McCalla, AL 35111).
