He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. McGaughy of Montevallo, AL and Martha Dabney Walker of Homewood, AL; and his granddaughter Sheena Ayers of Homewood, AL.. He is survived by: his wife Nury; his daughters, Diane (Roger Appell), Judy (Jeff Nysewander) and Susy (Mike Daria); his grandchildren, Alex, Chase McCain, Shea, Miller Allan, Michael, Alexandra Nysewander, Nicholas Daria and Tyler Daria; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Charlie McCain, Hayes Allan, Nicholas and Isabella Nysewander; and his siblings, Sam McGaughy and Liz Bradford. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (2701 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover, AL 35244). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
