He was predeceased by: his parents, Oncie Murphree and Dessie Murphree of Holly Pond; and his brothers, Leonard Murphree (Dora), Douglas Murphree (Janice), Bobby Ray Murphree (Dean) and Kenneth Murphree.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Harris Murphree; his children, Nan Murphree Priest (Marlin), Dr. Steven T. Murphree (Alisa) and Chris M. Murphree (Holly); his great grandchildren, Liam Price, Libby Price, Amelia Kate Hopkins, Macey Murphree and Blair Sheehy; his sisters, Delba Bright, Glenda Bates and Elaine Simpson; and his caregivers, Judy Moran, Patsy Rice and Dean Dyer.
