He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Benefield; his parent Pearl Harris Benefield; and his brother Loy Benefield, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Karen Perry, Kandace Phares (David) and Charles Kevin Benefield (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Nick Perry (Lindsey), Lauren Todd (Mitch), Tre Benefield, Sydney Phares, Elle Benefield, Eli Phares and Henri Benefield; his great grandchildren, Acelyn, Ryne Parker, Rhett, Avie, Rhys, Nolan, Charlie Grace and Charlotte Rose; and his brother Billy Mack Benefield.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel (161 Brooklyn Rd, Holly Pond, AL 35083). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 at the Holly Pond Cemetery (Co Rd 1669, Holly Pond, AL).
