He was predeceased by: his parents, Flossie Duren and Raymond Duren; his siblings, Jimmy, Raymond Duren, Juanita Johnson, Dorothy Veal and Doris Vaughn; and his children, Cynthia Alexander and Brian Abbott.
He is survived by: his wife Onzelle Hays Duren; his sister-in-law Betty Duren; his stepsons, Ron Akers (Vicki) and Terry Abbott; and his grandchildren, Britt Akers, Andrea Allen, Christopher Boroff, Robyn Scott, Francie Gordon, Heidi Dilorenzo, Jason Abbott, Lane Abbott, Zachary Abbott, Wyatt Abbott and Tyler Abbott. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
