She was predeceased by: her parents, Opal Hugh Howard Harris (Otis Wayne Higdon) and Hansard Russell Harris; and her sisters, Russie Harris, Mae Dee Gant, Janice Higdon and Mildred Carroll.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael "Mike" Higdon (Rita) and Martin "Marty" Higdon (Kim); her grandchildren, Amber James (Jason), Crystal Barron (Daniel), Bradly Higdon (Megan) and Branden Higdon (Nina); her great grandchildren, Bethany Barron, Garrett Barron, Veronica James and Wyatt James; and her siblings, Linda Chapman, Shirley Smith and Richard White (Donna). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 16th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Corner Stone Funeral Chapel (40 Cornerstone Dr, Ider, AL 35981).
