She was predeceased by: her husband Russell Sims; her parents, William Cooper and Jewell Cooper; and her siblings, Willena Hall and Bill Cooper Mrs (Sims).

She is survived by: her son David Sims (Minnie) of Henager; her grandson Taylor Sims (Ashley) of Henager; her sister Mary Nell Elmore of Huntsville; and her siblings-in-law, Maxelle Baldwin, Wanda Cooper of Scottsboro, Boyd Sims (Alice) of Knoxville and Wayne Creswell (Lillian) of Chattanooga.
