He was predeceased by: his parents, J. V. Gilbert and Gerlene Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith Gilbert; his children, Brad Gilbert (Misty) and Carrie Johnson (Eric); his sisters, Lucretia Gilbert Murdock (Donald) and Sandra Gilbert Phillips (Greg); and his grandsons, Jared Gilbert, Andrew Gilbert, Matthew Johnson and Nathan Johnson.
