He was predeceased by: his parents, Zack Gant and Betty Gant; his sisters, Pearl Satterfield, Ruth Satterfield, Artie Carter, Maggie Burrow, Irene Waller and Joyce Hall; and his wife Nancy Gant.
He is survived by: his children, Zackie Gant (Phyllis) of Ft. Payne, Ricky Gant (Pam) of Pisgah, Howard Jr. Gant (Kim) of Henagar, Billy Jordan (Donna) of Soddy Daisy, Brenda Marion (Ronnie) of Pisgah and Rhonda LeNaire (Lewis) of Henagar; his stepdaughter Kim Goodridge of Henagar; his sons, Joe, Gary Gant and Late; and his granddaughter Lacey Winkels. He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 9 Great Great Grandchildren.
