He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Marcus and Plumare Jane Fowler Townsel; his wife Maxine Headrick Townsel; and his siblings, Jewell Lea, Norma Dell Sears, Bonnie Meadows, Imodean Stallings, Johnny, Gordan and Aaron Townsel.
He is survived by: his children, Janice Bass, Donnie Townsel (Meredith) and Bonnie Bryant (Larry); and his grandchildren, Kenny Bass (Raegan), Mandy Abbott (David), Blake Sisemore, Katie Sisemore (Michael Glass), Lori Fulghum (Scott) and Jason Bryant (Heather). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
