He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas M. Carroll and Alta Baker Carroll; his siblings, Robert Carroll, Richard Carroll and Sarah Durbin; and his brothers-in-law, Frank Daniel and Lewis Knowles.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Rotenberry Carroll; his sons, Shane Carroll (Lynn) and Breck Carroll (Elaine); his grandchildren, Haleigh Moore, Mallory Carroll, Lindsey Cook, Cruise Cook, Sydney Carroll, Cason Cook and Presley Carroll; his siblings, Betty Daniel, Alice Knowles and Gordon Carroll (Linda); and his daughter Tracey Hinds (Brian). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
