He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe McMillan Hall Sr. and Annette Scarbrough Hall; his wife Charlotte Galloway Hall; and his brother William "Bill" Arthur Hall. He is survived by: his sons, Joe McMillan Hall, III (Mary) and William "Michael" Hall (Carla); and his granddaughters, Nancy "Kingston" Hall, Phoebe Michelle Hall, Elizabeth Anne Hall and Margaret "Maggie" Lee Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Brewersville Cemetery Fund, 6814 Alabama Highway 28 East Livingston, Alabama 35470.
