He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Scott, Jr. and Jim; his children, Jeffrey M. Scott and Dr. Michelle "Missy" Scott Johnson; and his grandson Daniel Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy Jones Scott; his stepmother Issa Scott; his sisters, Susan Scott Wilborn (Barney) and Sally Scott Allbritton (Rick); his sons, George E. Scott, IV (Judy) and J. Michael Scott (Leigh Ann); his grandchildren, Ashleigh Scott Coulter, Elizabeth Scott Guarnieri (Dan), Christopher R. Luehmann (Mandy), Anna Scott Khanduja (Prakhar), Matthew Scott, Katie Scott Gibbons (Jonathan), Noah Scott and Jacob Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Emmery Scott, Landon Coulter and Will Luehmann. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
