He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas E. Parkin and Martha "Ailene" Parkin; and his brother Anthony "Tony" Edwin Parkin. He is survived by: his sister Patti Cavender; his brother-in-law Ricky Joe Cavender; his brother Randy Parkin; and his sister-in-law Jan Parkin.
