He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Cavender and Syble Parmer Cavender; and his brother James Cavender. He is survived by: his wife Doris Bearden Cavender of Heflin; his children, Laura Glasgow (Tiras) of Heflin, Amanda Williamson (Jeremy) of Opelika and Mark Cavender of Heflin; and his sisters, Bobbie Holloway of Heflin and Syble Smith of Kentucky. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
