He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Brennan Phillips; his parents, John Phillips and Lou Emma Phillips; and his siblings, Johnnie Lou, Sherman, Lonnie and Turk.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Hannah and Josephine Epolito; his great grandchild Alec Millsaps-Epolito; his sister Sherry Atkisson; his niece LeAnn Brasher; and his nephews, Keith Atkisson, Sherman and Sean Phillips Jerry.
