He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Nolen; his parents, Robert Arter and Mae Bell Nolen; and his brothers, James Nolen, Rudy Nolen and Fred Nolen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kay Bowen (Sam) and Cristy Buttram (Butch); his grandchildren, Jackson Bowen, Cody Buttram (Grace) and Casey Buttram (Levi Lewis); his great grandchildren, Jessie Buttram, Haven Butterick, Isabella Buttram, Oakley Buttram, Hazel Lewis and Walker Lewis; his siblings, Mary Alewine, Ina Mae Carlise "Sucky" and Roger Nolen (Pat); and his nieces and nephews, Jamie Nolen, Robbie Nolen, Joe Nolen, Jon Daniel and Timothy Carlise.
