He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Smith and Vera Smith; his son Terry Smith; and his brothers, Thomas Smith and Bennie Smith Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Smith of Heflin, AL; his children, Rhonda Lines (Danny) and Shane Smith; and his daughter-in-law Linda Smith. He is also survived by Sister - Diane (Thomas) Clay 4- Grandchildren 8- Great Grandchildren.
