He was predeceased by: his wife Celia Nancy Teague Sanders; his son Joe Neal Sanders; and his parents, Homer Allen Sanders and Mary Selester Barker Sanders. He is survived by: his children, Janet Dawn Sanders Grizzard (AL) and Gene Edward Sanders; his siblings, Margaret Teague McGuire and Lenard Edward Sanders; and his grandchildren, Taylor Ryan Sanders Grande (Nick), Jonathan Edward Sanders (Whitney), Harlan Evan Sanders (Tyla) and Sarah Elizabeth Grizzard.
