He was predeceased by: his parents, Carnell Daugherty and Henry Merritt Daugherty; and his son David Merritt Daugherty. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jim Smith; and his daughters, Emily Burke (Michael), Elise Bedell (Nathan) and Beth Daugherty.
