With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bill Grubbs Ayers of Heflin, Alabama, born in Chulafinnee, Alabama, who passed away on April 10, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lindley Ayers and Edna Grubbs Ayers; his brother Robert Wilson Ayers; and his grandparents, Lindley Ayers of Arizona, William Henry Grubbs and Icie Harris Grubbs.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Campbell Ayers; his children, Marc S. Ayers (Sandy), Melinda Ayers King (Henry) and Ben C. Ayers (Marilyn); his brother Charles S. Ayers; and his grandchildren, Jessica Ayers Fulgencio (Felipe), Jaime Ayers Patterson (Taylor), Catherine Ayers Tucker (Travis), Zachary M. Ayers (Morgan), Jonathan M. Ayers, Marcus S. Ayers, Jr., Henry L. King, Jr., Elizabeth King Lewis (Nathan), Kathryn Ayers King, Margaret Lindley Ayers, Georgia C. Ayers and Benjamin H. Ayers. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
