She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Liddell Newton and Mildred Butler Newton; her siblings, Minnie Newton Rogers and Reverend Wayne Newton; and her siblings-in-law, Opthelia Hodges Newton, Marjorie Farmer Newton and Walter Rogers.

She is survived by: her daughter Millie Shelley (Andy); her brother Liddell Newton (Julia); her granddaughters, Amanda Doswell (Adam) and Amber Slay (Kyle); and her great grandchildren, Alec Doswell, Allie Doswell, Katlynn Slay, Mackenzie Slay and Brayden Slay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
