She was predeceased by: her husband Genus McDaniels; her parents, Marvin Knight and Bertha Knight; her sons, Ear and Ray McDaniels (Wade McDaniels); and her son-in-law Leon Brackins.

She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Marie Simpson (Allen), Betty Faye Reaves (Homer), Sherry Brackins (Leon) and Sheron Lee (Donnie); her daughters-in-law, Ann McDaniels and Mary McDaniels; and her grandchildren, Allen Jerome Simpson, Jr., Greg Simpson, Dante Reaves, Malcolm Reaves, Alvin Reaves, Wesley Reaves, Corey Brackins, Lakesha Brackins, Nicole Sloan (Eric), Brandon Lee (Rashida) and Tija McDaniels.
