He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Johnson and Obie Posey Johnson; and his stepmother Mary Lawhon Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Carmen; his daughters, Lydia Simpson, Julie Jones Dothan (Stan) and Amanda Suddoth; his stepdaughter Summer Hinton of Abbeville; his grandchildren, Kathryn, Julia Simpson, Turner (Mary Olivia), David (Claire), Stanley, Rush Jones, Alex, Daniel, Elizabeth, Sarah Suddoth and Harper Hinton; his great grandchildren, Tee and Asa Jones; and his sister Dethalia Armstrong (Joe). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
