She was predeceased by: her parents, Coy Thomas Chancey and Irene Aman Chancey; her husband James Theldon Kirkland; her siblings, Janie Posey, Ruth Hubbard, Marie Williams, Otho Chancey and Ozro Chancey; and her grandson Corey Waters.
She is survived by: her daughters, Thelda Hicks (Roger), Susan Scott (Marty) of Pensacola, FL and Katrina Mercer (Donnie) of Spotsylvania, VA; and her grandchildren, Leslie Eldridge (Rob), April Simmons (Mark), Rachel Mullins (Chance Mullins), Aimee Starling (Michael), Phillip Kirkland (Michelle), Victoria Lamberth, Quinton Waters (Courtney) and Caitlin Mercer. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; a niece and two nephews.
