He is survived by: his wife Ruby Ward Mims; his children, Starla Mims Bowling (Bruce) of Childersburg, AL and Keith Mims; his sister-in-law Joyce Cook Mims of Dozier, AL; and his grandchildren, Michelle Jenkins (Dean), Adam Bowling, Kaitlin Martin (Bobby), Michael Grant Jenkins, Aubrie Bowling, Charlotte Caine, Madison Bowling and Cooper Nash Martin.
