He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Patterson Smith; his children, Robert Dwight Smith (Deborah Jo Sharp) and Jennifer Smith Whitehead (Brian K. Whitehead); his grandchildren, Gabrielle DeAnne Whitehead (Joshua Martin), Chelsea Smith Williams (Ryan Williams), Nathan Thomas Whitehead and Taylor Shae Smith (Deejay Jarrett); his great grandchildren, Alyn Reese Whitehead and Kayson Wayne Jarrett; his siblings, John Smith (Sonny), Bobby Ray Smith, Keith Smith, Pauline Brummett, Wanda Goolsby (Terry Goolsby) and Nancy Smith; and his pets, Lucy and Precious. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
