He was predeceased by: his son Brian Lee Carter; and his brother Mickey "Slick" Dean Carter. He is survived by: his wife Paula Carter; his stepchildren, Melanie Bird and Craig Bird (Meghan); his nephews, Zachary Carter, Clint Carter, Tony Taylor and Bruce Taylor; and his sister Barbara Taylor. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
