He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Merchant Sr. and Mildred Patricia Merchant; and his brother Gregory A. Merchant. He is survived by: his wife Frances "Frankie" Merchant of Hayden; his children, Austin Shane Biggs of Morris and Angela Renee Huff of Coppell, Texas; his sister Sandra Mae "Sis"; his grandchildren, Grayson Huff, Jessie Huff and Natalie Biggs; his uncle Walter; and his aunt Faye Nettles of Miramar Beach, Florida. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
