It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E. Johnston Sr. of Hatchechubbee, Alabama, born in Phenix City, Alabama, who passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rutherford O'Grady Johnston and Grace Chadwick Johnston; his wife Dorothy Fuller Johnston; his children, Robin Johnston Smith, James Earnest Johnston, Jr. and Patti Johnston Holliday; and his grandson Glenn Steven Tompkins.
He is survived by: his brother Jack Johnston; his grandchildren, Jonathan Smith (Kelly), Jamie Talley (Leo Oalmann), Jessica Sanford, Chad Tompkins (Lisa) and Garrett Holliday; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Caitlyn, Samantha, Blayne, Aeryn, Ashlyn, Jessali, Bo, Hayes and Evie James; and his pet Katie Girl. He is also survived by numerous other nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Due to COVID restrictions, masks will be required.
